Simply Red

"Red is any of a number of similar colors evoked by light consisting predominantly of the longest wavelengths of light discernible by the human eye.

Red catches people's attention, and is often used either in a negative way to indicate danger and emergency, or in a positive way in advertising to gain more viewers, or in nature, as a ripe fruit announces its readiness with its red color. Several studies have indicated that red carries the strongest reaction of all the colors, with the level of reaction decreasing gradually with orange, yellow, and white, respectively."

Love in the Air

Jon & Christine
Mother's Day was extra special this year: I gained a daughter-in-law! I told my son it was the best Mother's Day gift he has ever given me! The wedding took place on the beach -- sort of!! They had planned for the ceremony to take place on the beach, but the weather was not cooperative. So the ceremony took place on the deck of the beach house we had rented. We were dry, but it was a very windy day!
This photo was taken two days after the ceremony -- that's when the sun decided to pop out again!

Tulip Duet

Tulips
There's a wedding in my future!! Not my wedding, but my son's! He and his bride-to-be became engaged over the holidays, and set the wedding date for this weekend. How exciting! I'm going to be the "evil mother-in-law," and all that the title entails! Hahaha! Just kidding! I'll be out of town for a few days and not sure if I'll be posting from the wedding site, so just hang in there, I'll be back!

Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White

It's that time of year again to see apple blossoms. These young blossoms are on a tree in my backyard. The trunk of this tree branches in two different directions. A couple of years ago in wintertime, one side of the trunk became so heavy with ice that it split the tree. Well, that is the side that still flourishes with blossoms (shown above) while the other side, by all outward appearance is the healthier of the two, languishes with just a few blossoms.
